The following suggested stocking levels are per acre of surface area
At Beemer Fisheries we have developed a general stocking recommendation per surface acre of ponds here in the Midwest over the last 35+ years in business. Generally we recommend a variety of fish in each pond to promote diversity and keep one species from taking over. We believe a good forage fish base, as well as fish habitat, is a must for a healthy pond. Each pond is different! We have always listened to our customers’ specific goals for their pond. We are always available by phone or email to give you the best personal recommendations we possibly can. You’re not done: We have many customers that put fish in annually or biannually which can help keep the pond in balance. We can ensure the species that the pond owner wants to catch on a regular basis will be strong in number.
