White Amur provide economical and complete weed
control. This fast growing fish is the biological alternative to costly
chemical weed control in ponds and lakes. The Amur is a vegetarian fish
which originated in Asia. It has a recommended stocking rate of 10 to 15 per
acre. The Amur will control aquatic vegetation and will not affect water
clarity or feed on other fish.
The average life span of the Amur is 8 years and this fish
will not reproduce in a pond or lake.
An Amur will eat four times his body weight in vegetation
each day and grow rapidly. We recommend restocking behind the initial stock
at lower rates to keep weeds in check.
Excellent for city lagoons, urban ponds, and golf
courses! |
